If you want a deeper voice speaks, don't do it!

Recently I read some questionable articles on the various ways in which you can get a deeper voice and I am appalled at the number of people who are giving advice. People who have no understanding of or training in voice speaks. In addition, their tips and tricks are wrong and can cause serious damage to the vocal cords.

One person suggests opera singing and another recommended scream. Other advice includes deep as you possibly can with some exercises. None of these suggestions are correct, because all three are likely to lead to abuse.

What is fascinating is that none of the articles was mentioned by breathing. The depth and power of a great voice is the result of:

1. breathing diaphragmatically, and

2. feeding the sound to the middle of the chest cavity.

There is no other way around it.

When I started my business, someone said that I was trying to get everyone to talk with a deep voice. Wrong. My job is to show how to find the optimal pitch of your voice that is going to be speaking in the lower register of the range. I am not, however, looking for everyone to talk with a deep bass voice. What I'm looking for is the depth that is convenient and appropriate for every individual. And this is very individual.

Your excellent step dialing depends entirely on you. Some men may find that they have a low voice, but others will not. That's why I'm bothered when someone tells me that they seem so and so, or who want to be a low cost. If the vocal apparatus provides a bass voice, which is great. If it doesn't, however, the mistake is trying to get it going down that far. This is where lies the danger.

Women will find that they have a deeper voice, as well as hopefully not a bass! but certainly somewhere below their usual range. The usual range is the area in which they were talking about habit.

You can tell if you're speaking too deep because your voice will lose all expression and will have very little power.

Stay away from tips and tricks. If the person who gives advice isn't going to teach you how to breathe in the first place, don t waste your time on it. The vocal cords are a delicate organ and once were severely damaged and never get your instrument back as it was original. Just ask Julie Andrews if true isn t!
